Safwan Zaheer, MSc, is a FinTech executive and operator with 20+ years of experience building and scaling platforms across PE/VC-backed companies and global financial institutions. His background includes building and scaling high-growth PE/VC-backed FinTech firms and global institutions. He has launched a neobank in the US, scaled a VC-backed lending business, and served as Chief Product Officer of a PE-backed fintech, helping position the business for a successful investor outcome. Earlier, he built KPMG’s U.S. FinTech practice and led payments innovation at Barclays. In 2025, he was named a FinTech AI Champion in the FinTech Strategy AI Champions Index, produced in partnership with Publicis Sapient, for AI leadership in financial services.
Safwan earned a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a joint program of the MIT School of Engineering and the MIT Sloan School of Management, and both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
