Gabriel Vázquez Torres, MS
Gabriel Vázquez Torres, MS is a Spanish artificial intelligence engineer, deep tech founder, and executive leader specializing in the convergence of advanced machine learning, neuroscience, and bioinformatics. With a focus on high-responsibility environments, his career bridges the gap between complex algorithmic research and scalable enterprise architecture, positioning him to lead AI-driven innovation in the biotechnology, clinical, and scientific sectors.
Gabriel is the Founder and CEO of ConsciencesAI, a firm dedicated to bio-inspired artificial intelligence, genomic data analysis, and the development of clinical-grade AI platforms. Founded in 2017 as a B2B SaaS provider for the life sciences and enterprise automation sectors, ConsciencesAI pursues bio-inspired systems and novel architectures beyond transformer models, and its enterprise practice delivers data platforms, MLOps, agentic systems, and cloud infrastructure compliant with EU and US data protection regulations.
His executive leadership focuses on the research of artificial intelligence models applied to the life sciences, aiming to accelerate biomarker discovery, optimize human longevity, and engineer systems capable of handling deep biological complexity.
ConsciencesAI grew out of a proprietary machine learning framework Gabriel began building in 2017, first released as TFBoost — a TensorFlow-based framework, developed across 427 commits, for reading any kind of labeled data, generating training, validation, and test sets, and selecting the best-fitting algorithm — and later evolved into the Consciences framework, both published as open source on his GitHub.
Concurrently, Gabriel drives enterprise-scale AI strategy as a Senior Data Scientist and MLOps Manager at Credicorp, whose subsidiaries include Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP). In this role, he leads the governance, architecture, and deployment of robust machine learning ecosystems, ensuring algorithmic stability, security, and performance — creating the bank's MLOps governance from requirements through architecture and deployment, and driving MLRE initiatives that increase the global operational stability of the bank with AI.
A committed science communicator and academic, Gabriel actively bridges the gap between data science and healthcare. He serves as a lecturer at the Colegio Oficial de Enfermería de Madrid (Official College of Nursing of Madrid), where he instructs healthcare professionals on the clinical applications of Big Data and artificial intelligence. In September 2025, he served as University Lecturer and course creator in the Microcredencial Universitaria en Aplicaciones prácticas básicas de la inteligencia artificial en medicina at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, an official university credential accredited with ECTS credits focused on AI in clinical diagnostic and treatment workflows.
His expertise has made him a frequent contributor to international forums, notably as a speaker and moderator at the 3rd World Conference on Data Science & Statistics in Amsterdam in 2025. Earlier, from 2020 to 2021, he was Data Science Lead Instructor at The Bridge, a digital talent accelerator in Madrid, where he cocreated the syllabus of its data science bootcamp, and in 2017 he created and taught the Curso de Machine Learning con TensorFlow at OpenWebinars.
In March 2024, Gabriel was a panelist at the Primer Congreso Nacional de Inteligencia Artificial en Enfermería in Elche — the first Spanish national congress on artificial intelligence in nursing, organized by the Consejo de Enfermería de la Comunidad Valenciana (CECOVA) and attended by a thousand nurses — where he analyzed the automation of tasks and AI-based decision-making support from both technological and humanistic perspectives. From 2019 to 2020, Gabriel served first as Chief Information Officer and then as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of TAFFD's (the Transdisciplinary Agora for Future Discussions), a global futurist ecosystem headquartered in Johannesburg founded by our Ósìnàkáchì Ákùmà Kálù, and was a member of its board of advisors. A committed transhumanist, he was featured in 2019 in the #IAmTranshuman campaign showcasing transhumanist stories. Intellectually, Gabriel's work is driven by a deep commitment to maximizing life and mitigating suffering through technology. He is currently authoring a scientific and philosophical book exploring the future of existence: drawing from rigorous scientific principles and a forward-looking transhumanist perspective, his writing examines how advanced intelligence can be leveraged to control entropic processes and ensure the continuity of biological systems. Whether designing MLOps architectures or leading bio-cognitive research, Gabriel's ultimate objective is to deploy artificial intelligence as a foundational tool for human flourishing and systemic resilience.
Earlier in his career, from 2018 to 2019, Gabriel was Lead Data Scientist at Smart IoT Labs in Seville, and from 2017 to 2019, he was Senior Consultant in Artificial Intelligence at Stratence Partners in London, applying AI to strategy optimization, commercial effectiveness, and pricing excellence for global clients.
Between 2017 and 2018, he was a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Researcher at the Universidad de Sevilla, building a TensorFlow expert system for the Consulting 3.0 research project, and he also worked as an NLP Engineer at Kerox Technology and, from 2016 to 2017, as a big data developer at AYESA, a global engineering and technology group present in 16 countries. In 2019, he coauthored The Systematic Discovery of Services in Early Stages of Agile Developments: A Systematic Literature Review, published in the Journal of Computer and Communications.
Gabriel earned his degree in software engineering from the Universidad de Sevilla in 2016, where his final-year project developed a brain–computer interface classifying mental states from raw electroencephalogram signals captured with an Emotiv EPOC headset, training linear, multilayer, and convolutional neural network models in TensorFlow. He holds a Master's Degree in Neuroscience from the Instituto Superior Europeo de Barcelona (ISEB) and a Master's Degree in Computer Languages and Systems (Artificial Intelligence branch), earned in 2018 from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).
To further advance his research in genetics and precision medicine, he is complementing his expertise with a Master's in Bioinformatics, allowing him to seamlessly integrate biological and genetic data with advanced computational models.
Gabriel is based in Madrid and speaks Spanish, English, and French. His self-declared guiding question: “What is the best that a Human Being can do?”
